A useful rent receipt is not a tax invoice by default — it is proof that a specific rent payment was received for a property and period. Include a unique receipt number, the payment date, the rental period, the exact amount in EUR (or the currency actually paid), the property address, and both parties' names.
Keep a copy for your records. Tenants often need receipts for visa files, housing benefits, employer housing allowances, or disputes. Consistent numbering makes year-end bookkeeping much easier.
